Two workers were killed and two others critically injured when a brick wall collapsed on them at a brick kiln in Kishoreganj’s Hossainpur upazila on Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 11am at Sojol’s brick kiln in the Rampur area under Char Pumdi Union of the upazila of Kishoreganj.
According to locals, several labourers were working at the kiln when a brick wall suddenly collapsed on them, killing two workers on the spot. The two critically injured labourers were rescued and taken to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital.
The identities of the deceased workers were not immediately known.
Hossainpur Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Rashedul Islam confirmed the incident, saying police went to the scene after receiving a call through the national emergency service 999.
He added that further details of the incident would be shared later.
