Bangladesh Cricket Board president Aminul Islam Bulbul was seen outside the BCB headquarters on Monday. The sighting came after rumours spread that he had left the country for Australia.
Photos of Bulbul at the board office circulated on social media. Many shared the images as questions grew over his whereabouts since Sunday night.
The rumours started on Sunday evening. Reports claimed Bulbul would fly to Australia that night. He later spoke to a media and denied the claims.
He said he spent the full day at the office. He also said he had no plan to travel.
“There was never any plan to go to my family, and that is my personal matter,” Bulbul said.
Later, some reports said he left Dhaka for Australia late Sunday night. Airport sources were also quoted in local media. This created more confusion.
Bulbul’s appearance at the BCB office on Monday has now added a new twist. The BCB has not given any official statement on the matter.
The update comes at a difficult time for the board. The BCB has faced heavy criticism over Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup 2026 issue.
The situation began after political tension with India increased following Mustafizur Rahman’s removal from the IPL. The BCB later raised security concerns and asked for Bangladesh’s World Cup matches to be moved out of India. Sri Lanka was seen as an option.
The ICC rejected the request. It asked the BCB to confirm whether Bangladesh would travel to India. It also warned that Bangladesh could be replaced if they refused.
Bangladesh stayed firm on its position. Reports later said the ICC board voted to exclude Bangladesh from the tournament. Scotland were reported as the top team to take Bangladesh’s place.
