Mehidy Hasan Miraz continued to impress in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), taking four wickets in his second match for Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday to win the Player of the Match award.

His spell restricted Trinbago Knight Riders to 126 for eight before Guyana chased down the target comfortably. Playing in the CPL for the first time, Miraz has quickly made an impact and is enjoying his experience in the tournament.

Speaking after the match, Miraz expressed his delight at his performance.

“Alhamdulillah, it’s a great moment for me. It’s my first time playing in the CPL and getting the Player of the Match, so I really enjoyed myself out there today,” he said.

The victory strengthened Guyana’s position at the top of the points table with one match remaining. However, Miraz is already looking ahead to the playoffs.

“We have one match left against Barbados. It’s going to be challenging, but we’re still looking to win. As for the playoffs, if we execute, we can definitely go all the way to the final. Hopefully, we get another win in the next match,” Miraz said.

Miraz has taken seven wickets in his first two CPL matches. His approach has been simple—bowl according to the conditions and make the most of what the pitch offers.

“I just tried to bowl in the right areas and look for wickets. I knew the pitch was turning a bit and offering help for the spinners, so I focused on targeting the stumps, and the opportunity came,” he said.
