Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) has submitted its Annual Report for the fiscal year 2024–2025 to the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) under the Ministry of Planning on Sunday, in line with the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority Act 2023 and the Right to Information Act 2009, according to a press release.
BPPA Chief Executive Officer S M Moin Uddin Ahmed formally handed over the report to IMED Secretary Shirajun Noor Chowdhury at his office on the Bangladesh Planning Commission campus in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
Officials of BPPA were present at the handover ceremony, the release said.
The annual report provides a comprehensive overview of the policy and institutional framework, operations and progress of Bangladesh’s public procurement system during the 2024–2025 fiscal year.
It covers electronic government procurement, sustainable public procurement, amendments to laws and rules, capacity-building and training initiatives, and post-procurement review mechanisms.
IMED Secretary Shirajun Noor Chowdhury thanked BPPA for submitting the report and said it would serve as a useful reference for preparing future annual reports.
He also commended the overall design and presentation of the publication.
BPPA Chief Executive Officer S M Moin Uddin Ahmed said this is the first annual report of the authority.
He said BPPA was established on 18 September 2023 through the transformation of the former Central Procurement Technical Unit of IMED into an authority.
