National Bank gives Tk368 lakh to startup funds

National Bank PLC has handed over a payment order worth Tk368 lakh to Bangladesh Bank as part of the central bank’s directive on the formation and operation of Bangladesh Startup Investment Company PLC.

The payment order for Tk3,68,08,199 was formally delivered on 15 February 2026.

Bangladesh Bank SME and Special Programmes Department Director Nawshad Mustafa received the payment order from National Bank Deputy Managing Director In-Charge Md Meshkat-Ul-Anwer Khan.

Also present at the event were Bangladesh Bank SME and Special Programmes Department Additional Director Md Nazrul Islam and other officials of the department, along with National Bank Head of CRM MSME Division Md Murshed Kamal.

National Bank said the contribution aligns with Bangladesh Bank’s initiative to support the startup ecosystem through the Bangladesh Startup Investment Company PLC.

The bank said the move reflects its continued support for fostering new entrepreneurs and strengthening entrepreneurship development in line with sustainable economic growth.
