Residents in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will now be able to pay holding tax, trade license fees and other service charges through Community Bank PLC branches, sub-branches and its online banking platform under an agreement between the bank and the city corporation.
An MoU in this regard was signed on Wednesday at a ceremony where separate agreements were signed with five banks, said a press release on Thursday.
DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam attended the ceremony. Community Bank Director Ahmad Muyeed and Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin signed the agreement on behalf of the bank.
The initiative will reduce the need for citizens to visit city corporation offices solely for making payments, while supporting the digitalisation of citizen services.
DSCC Additional Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Khoybar Rahman, Chief Revenue Officer Jonaied Kabir Shohag, and senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony.
