The BNP has revoked the expulsion orders of 17 leaders and workers from various units across the country who were expelled and had their positions suspended for violating party discipline and engaging in activities contrary to the party’s policies and ideals.
This was confirmed in a notice signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday.
The notice stated that previously, for violating party discipline and engaging in activities contrary to the party’s policies and ideals, the following individuals were expelled: Iqbal Hossain, general secretary of Siddhirganj Thana BNP under Narayanganj District; Kamal Uddin, general secretary of Gacha Thana BNP under Gazipur Metropolitan; Sadek Ali, former vice president of Birol Upazila BNP under Dinajpur District; Mst Firoza Begum (Shona), former Women Affairs secretary; Mahibul Islam Shahin, member of Habiganj District BNP; Ibrahim Howladar, general secretary of No 4 Chanchra Union BNP under Tazumuddin Upazila, Bhola district; Babar Ali Biswas, former member of Chapainawabganj District BNP; Anwarul Islam, former general secretary of Bholahat Thana BNP; Sirajul Islam, convener of Jorarganj Thana Juba Dal under Chattogram North District; Gazi Nizam Uddin, former member secretary of Mirsharai Upazila BNP; Kamal Uddin, convener of the upazila Jubo Dal; Shahidul Islam Azam, member of Fatikchhari Upazila BNP; Belal Hossain Sumon, president of Subarnachar Upazila Juba Dal under Noakhali District; Jamal Uddin Gazi, member of Subarnachar Upazila BNP.
Mohammad Mazharul Islam, former president of Nangalkot Upazila BNP under Cumilla South, had been expelled from all levels of positions, including primary membership. Based on an appeal and in accordance with the party’s decision, his expulsion order was revoked on Thursday, and his primary membership has been restored.
Furthermore, for violating party discipline and engaging in activities contrary to the party’s policies and ideals, the positions of Mohammad Muzibul Hossain Maruf, president of Baniachong Upazila BNP under Habiganj District, and General Secretary Naqib Fazle Rakib Makhon were suspended at all levels, including primary membership.
Based on an appeal and in accordance with the party’s decision, their suspension orders are revoked on Thursday. Ahead of the upcoming election, the expulsion orders of many others had been previously revoked.
