Bangladeshi film star Arifin Shuvoo is recovering after a dramatic on-set accident while filming his latest movie, ‘Malik’, outside Dhaka. The incident occurred during an action sequence involving fire, which was intended to briefly touch the actor’s lower body for dramatic effect.
According to sources on set, the flames unexpectedly surged upwards, engulfing Shuvoo’s legs. The actor initially attempted to extinguish the fire himself but lost his balance and fell. The production team immediately rushed to his aid. Details of the actor’s current condition have not been officially disclosed and director Saif Chandan has not yet commented.
Shuvpo, known for his commitment to performing his own stunts, has faced similar hazards in the past. In 2014, he sustained serious injuries while shooting ‘Agnee’ in Thailand, requiring treatment in India. He was also injured during a horse-riding scene in the film Kistimaat when a horse collided with a truck.
Fans and colleagues have praised Shuvoo’s dedication to his craft, noting that his willingness to embrace physically demanding and risky sequences is part of what has made him one of Dhaka cinema’s most bankable stars.
