After a two-year absence, Dhallywood star Apu Biswas is set to return to the big screen with the upcoming thriller ‘Durbar’, directed by Kamrul Hasan Fuad.
The actress said filming is progressing at a brisk pace, with around 40 per cent of her portions already completed. Shooting for the remaining scenes is expected to finish soon. Describing the project as promising, Apu said the film offers a blend of action, suspense and entertainment, with several surprises in store for audiences.
Reflecting on her return to acting after a long break, Apu said cinema remains central to her identity. She noted that the love and support she has received from audiences through films has been the foundation of her career, adding that she is delighted to be returning with what she considers a strong project, even if it took time.
Actor Sajal stars opposite Apu Biswas in Durbar. She described her experience of working with him as positive from the outset and expressed confidence that audiences will see the pair in a new light. She also referred to Sajal as a “dream co-star”.
Apu Biswas chose not to disclose details about her character at this stage, saying she prefers to reveal more once the film’s production is complete.
She added that she has no regrets about taking time away from cinema, explaining that she waited patiently for the right project and believes Durbar aligns with her expectations.
