Bollywood Actor Akshaye Khanna reportedly lost his temper on a film set after a junior artist was denied access to a shared lunch, with fellow actor Amit Behl recalling that the usually reserved star “unleashed a volcano” on the production team.
Speaking on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel, Behl shared details of the incident from a film they worked on together, describing how a character actor had been staying separately from the main cast and crew but had come to Akshaye Khanna’s hotel for lunch.
Behl said the situation escalated when the actor was midway through the meal and was told by a member of the production team that he was not supposed to eat with the main unit.
“The moment this actor had his first bite at the hotel’s lunch buffet, the producer’s wife or some relative noticed that he didn’t belong there and said he shouldn’t be eating that food. Just as he had begun, someone from production came over and said, ‘Sir, you can’t eat this.’ He was hurt and quietly kept the plate aside and sat by himself,” Behl said.
He added that Khanna, who was observing the incident from a distance, intervened immediately and strongly criticised those involved, including members of the production team and the producer.
According to Behl, Khanna spoke at length about dignity and respect on set, saying, “A film doesn’t get made by the number of plates or how much food you have; it is made by the blessings of people.”
Behl described the moment as a rare outburst from the actor, adding, “It really looked like a man who hardly speaks had finally unleashed the volcano within him.”
Akshaye Khanna, known for his restrained public persona, was last seen in ‘Dhurandhar’, where his performance received strong attention. He is also set to make his Telugu debut in ‘Mahakali’, where he will play Shukracharya, and will appear as the antagonist in the Netflix-bound film ‘Ikka’ alongside Sunny Deol, Dia Mirza, Tillotama Shome and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
