Actor Dino Morea has been arrested by Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the Mithi River desilting project.
According to Mid-Day, Morea was taken into custody on 2 October after nearly eight hours of questioning at his Bandra residence.
The investigation centres on alleged irregularities in contracts for desilting and rejuvenating the river, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reportedly suffering losses of ₹65.54 crore.
Morea and his brother, Santino, were previously questioned in May 2025 after investigators found phone records linking them to individuals connected to the case. The EOW has also examined financial transactions involving Santino’s company, UBO Ridez.
The probe has involved contractors, intermediaries and civic officials. The Enforcement Directorate had earlier searched Morea’s residence as part of its investigation.
The case remains under investigation, and the allegations have yet to be established in court.
