Bangladeshi film Roid has won three awards at the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival 2026 in Canada, with actress Nazifa Tushi receiving the Best Actress honour for her performance as Sadhur Bou.
The film also secured awards for Best Cinematography and Best Music, adding to its growing international recognition.
Cinematographer Joaher Musavvir Jyoti won the Best Cinematography award, while Rasheed Sharif Shoaib received the Best Music honour.
Directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Roid has continued to make its mark on the international festival circuit. The film was previously selected for the main competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
It has also been selected as Bangladesh’s official entry in the International Feature Film category for the 99th Academy Awards.
Roid explores the primal and timeless nature of love through a narrative shaped by love, silence and human evolution.
The film stars Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran in lead roles, alongside Gazi Rakayet and Ahsabul Yamin Riad.
Tushi’s latest recognition marks another significant milestone in her acting career, while the film’s three awards further strengthen its international profile.
The achievement also adds to the growing visibility of Bangladeshi cinema at international festivals, as Roid continues its journey towards a wider global audience.
