Paris Fashion Week brought high glamour, daring silhouettes and intricate craftsmanship to the runway as luxury brands looked to revive demand amid a prolonged industry slowdown.
Saint Laurent set the tone with golden chandeliers illuminating a black outdoor runway, with the Eiffel Tower in view. Catherine Deneuve, Kate Moss, Hailey Bieber and Rami Malek attended, while Jennifer Lopez appeared at Stella McCartney and Rihanna visited Matières Fécales.
Spring-summer 2027 collections embraced three dominant trends: extravagant glamour, revealing designs and couture-inspired craftsmanship. Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello marked his 10th anniversary with metallic safari jackets, shimmering lace dresses and brocade jackets.
Chloé showcased lace, pearls and tassels, while Stella McCartney focused on relaxed tailoring and ocean-inspired motifs. Tom Ford and Balmain embraced revealing styles, while Balenciaga and Loewe highlighted detailed craftsmanship and wearable luxury.
The industry remains under pressure, with Bain & Company estimating that around 60 million consumers have stopped buying luxury goods since 2022 as prices surged.
