Demi Lovato has officially announced her ninth studio album, ‘It’s Not That Deep’, set to arrive on October 24. The upcoming project marks a new chapter in the singer’s career, leaning into a vibrant dance-pop sound, following the release of her singles ‘Fast’ and ‘Here All Night’.
Executive produced by Zhone, known for work with Charli XCX and Kylie Minogue, the album will feature 11 tracks. Lovato described the record as a reflection of her current mindset, “This music is a perfect reflection of where I’m at today. Making this album with Zhone was incredibly freeing. I just wanted to let loose and have fun. In the past, I wrote music to process heavy topics, but this time, I’m happy, in love and ready to enjoy life. That’s why I realized it’s not that deep anymore. This album is meant for late nights, dancefloors and celebrating life. I can’t wait for everyone to dance with me.”
Lovato’s last album, ‘Holy Fvck’ (2022), explored rock influences and reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200. She followed it up with a 34-date tour, supported by Dead Sara and Royal & the Serpent.
Beyond music, Lovato recently appeared in the film ‘Tow’, starring alongside Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer and Simon Rex, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June. She is also set to release a new cookbook, ‘One Plate at a Time: Recipes for Finding Freedom With Food’, on March 31, 2026.
