Bangladesh will not field any national team players in the two-day practice match against the West Indies, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) keeping its Test players out of the preparatory fixture scheduled to begin on October 22 at Bashundhara Cricket Ground.

A BCB official confirmed to TIMES that no member of the national team would be available for the BCB XI.
“We will not have any national team players in the practice match. The players who featured in the Afghanistan Test have been rested,” the official told TIMES on condition of anonymity.

Bangladesh’s Test players who featured in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi, notably Mushfiqur Rahim, Taijul Islam and Mominul Haque, will not take part in the practice match as they have been rested.

They had also been expected to feature in the ongoing third round of the National Cricket League (NCL), but they will remain out of action as part of their recovery and preparation schedule.

Among the players from Bangladesh’s Afghanistan Test squad, only pacer Khaled Ahmed is featuring in the third round of the NCL, representing Sylhet.

However, the BCB has yet to announce either the squad for the two-day practice match or the main squad for the Test series.
