On the second day of nomination form distribution, a total of 169 individuals have collected nomination forms. Among them, 97 are for the central union, and 72 are for the hall unions. This includes 26 for male student halls and 46 for female student halls.
This information was confirmed by Election Commissioner Professor Dr Monir Uddin around nearly 5pm on Monday.
The Election Commission sold a total of 28 nomination forms on the first day of its distribution on Sunday.
The Chhatra Union election is scheduled to be held on October 12, after a long 35 years. The last Chhatra Union election was held on February 8, 1990. Due to political instability and various complexities, no election has been organised since then.
However, in the context of the country’s changing political landscape, the election schedule has been announced under a non-partisan government this year.
