BIFF, South Korea introduces ‘July Memorial Prize’

A new international film award named ‘July Memorial Prize’ has been launched at the world-renowned film fair ‘Busan International Film Festival (BIFF)’ in Busan, South Korea.

The award is set to debut at BIFF’s 30th anniversary edition from September 19 to 25 in Busan, South Korea, said a notification from the ministry on Tuesday.

The award will be presented to the winning filmmaker on the closing day of this year’s festival, reports BSS.

The ‘July Memorial Prize’ will be awarded to one film from among the competing films in the ‘Vision Asia’ section of the Busan Film Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

The prize will be given to a worthy film made on the theme of social justice, freedom of speech and expression, civil rights or the fight against inequality.
