Education Adviser CR Abrar on Tuesday said recommendations had been made for the recruitment of 41,000 teachers at the secondary and higher secondary levels under NTRCA.

The adviser made the comment while inaugurating the 6th recruitment recommendation activities organised by the Non-government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA), reports BSS.

He said the recommendation has been made for appointing 41,000 teachers at the secondary and high secondary levels following due process against a total of 1,00,822 vacant posts in the country.

Dr Abrar told the meeting that a total of 18,65,719 candidates applied this year for the 18th teachers’ recruitment examination under NTRCA of which 13,40,833 candidates appeared in the preliminary test but only 4,79,981 candidates passed.

A total of 3,48,680 candidates took part in the written test of which only 83,865 candidates passed, he said. Abrar added that 81,209 candidates appeared for the viva voce and from them only 60,634 were passed.

“We want to make a panel of meritorious, competent and skilled teachers through the NTRCA, who will help build the next generation as worthy citizens of the country,” Dr Abrar said.

In this connection, he said the digital transformation of the teachers’ recruitment process will be more strengthened, fair and acceptable in future.
