An emergency hotline number has been launched at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery following the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft crash at Milestone School and College campus in Uttara on Monday.
The hotline number is 01949043697. People can contact this number to get information about the burn victims and casualties at the burn institute.
The launch of the hotline was announced in a statement issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:18pm on Monday, leading to the deaths of at least 19 people, with around a hundred more injured.
The injured, many suffering from severe burns, have been taken to various hospitals in the capital, including the National Burn Institute.
Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft struck the school premises, damaging a classroom near the canteen area.
“Security forces have sealed off the site, and even college staff are not being allowed access,” said Public Relations Officer of Milestone College Shah Bulbul.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
