The film ‘Bou Jamai Er Lorai’, directed by Babul Reza, has failed to obtain clearance from the Film Certification Board. The film, starring Hero Alam, is produced by 80s screen actor Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Uzzal.
Film Certification Board member Awlad Hossain Ujjal confirmed that the board recently reviewed the film. He stated that, given the current circumstances, the industry requires quality productions to help sustain itself.
“However, the board felt that this film is not suitable for screening at this time. Therefore, it has not been granted clearance. If the producer submits a fresh application, the matter may be reconsidered,” he said.
Production of the film began on November 20, 2021. In addition to Hero Alam, the cast includes Moonmun, Gangua, Nusrat and Zara Jerin.
Although Hero Alam was initially listed as the producer, recent documents show Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Uzzal as the producer. As Hero Alam is currently in prison, his statement could not be obtained.
There are allegations that Uaaal sought to include his name in the list of producers in order to contest for the post of president in the upcoming Film Producers Association elections.
After a prolonged delay, the election had been scheduled for April 4, but it has recently been postponed indefinitely. The association has effectively remained without leadership for a considerable period due to various legal complications and internal disputes.
