With 2026 around the corner, 2025 has shown its shine in the world of technology. Gadgets were released that provided huge hype and a burst of dopamine into tech savvies. Here are some of the most hyped techs of 2025.
iPhone 17 series
Probably the most iconic gadget of the year, thanks to its improved hardware and software that gave the iPhone a whole new look. The phone has class-leading technology and dependable performance, making it a favourite among everyday users and enthusiasts alike. The subtle blending of cutting-edge hardware with a touch of intuitive software ensures smooth multitasking and exceptional imaging regardless of capturing landscapes or low-light moments. Apart from the specifications, the phone embodies the stability and polish that many have come to expect from a modern flagship. Its balance of refinement and raw power made it one of the year’s most talked-about releases.
Oppo X9 Find Pro
Chinese manufacturer Oppo has come up with a new flagship that is capable of doing almost anything. Called the Find X9 Pro, this camera-centric phone is equipped with a single new, higher-resolution 200MP sensor. The larger sensor is paired with a lens which primarily focuses on super close snaps, which Vivo had been experimenting for a while. This allows the camera to achieve up to 10X optical zoom, reaching a staggering 230mm. The OS comes pre-loaded with Android 16 and is capable of getting up to five major Android upgrades. Among 2025’s camera-focused phones, the X9 Pro earned its place for pushing optical zoom to new territory.
Meta Ray Ban Display
Maybe you are tired of carrying a camera all the time, and you want to shoot a video quickly. Well, Ray Ban and Meta have collaborated to create the smart glasses. Not only do you wear them for fashion, but you can also use the built-in 12MP camera capable of taking decent pictures and recording in 1920×1440 pixels. The storage has increased from 4GB to 32GB, which can store 100 or so 30-second videos and over 500 pictures. Battery life has improved by 50 per cent, lasting up to 36 hours with the charging/carrying case. The tiny 154mAh component is impressive when compared to larger 425mAh batteries found in the Galaxy Watch6. Although still experimental, there are rumours that Meta and MediaTek plan to develop custom SoCs for AR glasses. With this, Meta marked a clear step forward in the slow but steady rise of consumer AR.
ThinkBook Plus Gen6 Rollable
One of the most entertaining yet useful laptops of this year might be the ThinkBook Plus Gen6 Rollable. It functions like a typical 14-inch OLED laptop at first appearance. The screen silently unfolds when you press a button or wave your palm, expanding vertically to a roomy 16.7 inches. The taller canvas gives you much more room for scripting, document review or stacking two windows. The OLED’s colours are still vivid and rich, and the refresh rate of 120 Hz maintains fluidity.
With an Intel Core Ultra processor, up to 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage and powerful integrated graphics, it has real business-class features. Because of this, the Rollable is an unexpectedly capable partner for both routine work and more demanding productivity tasks. It is not without quirks. The unusual display shape takes a little getting used to. And with only two USB-C ports, you may end up juggling dongles. But for anyone looking to blend portability with flexible screen space, this ThinkBook hits a sweet spot. Among 2025 laptops, the Rollable stood out for its bold approach to screen flexibility.
Amazon Kindle Scribe
Anyone who enjoys reading and taking notes while travelling may find the Amazon Kindle Scribe to be a thoughtful companion. Its thin, lightweight frame feels comfortable right out of the box and can be carried around or rested on your lap while reading. Long reading sessions seem as close to paper as possible because of the e-ink screen’s gentleness and lack of glare or backlight eye strain.
Battery life is a real plus. A full charge lasts long enough that you don’t have to worry about scrambling for a charger during travel or extended reading sessions. Storage is generous enough for hundreds of books and documents, giving peace of mind that your library travels with you. If you crave a clean, distraction-free reading and writing experience in a digital form, the Kindle Scribe remains a sincere contender.
