Election Commission (EC) has appointed Returning Officers (RO) and Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) for 300 constituencies for the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election.
EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed signed and issued the notification on Thursday night.
The notification stated that that in accordance with Section 5 and Section 7 Clauses (1) and (2) of the Representation of the People Order (RPO), 1972, EC is appointing the stated officers as ROs and AROs for the electoral areas for the election and the referendum.
A total of 69 ROs have been appointed, including the Divisional Commissioners of Dhaka and Chittagong, the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of 64 districts, and three officers from the EC Secretariat (Regional Election Officers).
