Two passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and another injured in a head-on collision with a bus in Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona on Saturday morning.
One of the deceased was identified as Ainul Haque, 50, of Kaler Dahar village, while the identities of the other victim and the injured remain unknown.
Purbadhala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun said police recovered the bodies around 9am.
The incident took place in the Boro Ilashpur area when a Mymensingh-bound bus from Durgapur collided with an auto-rickshaw travelling from Shyamganj to Durgapur, leaving one passenger dead at the scene.
The injured person was taken to Purbadhala Hospital, where another passenger later died. Police seized both vehicles, while the bus driver fled the scene. Legal proceedings are underway.
