Shooting for Siam Ahmed’s upcoming film ‘Rakkhosh’ is set to begin this month. Early reports suggested that Sabila Noor would play the heroine. Recently, however, Bangladeshi media had recently reported that the role would go to Kolkata-based actress Idhika Paul. Another name now circulating is rising Kolkata actress Susmita Chatterjee. This has raised the question of who will actually star opposite Siam in Rakkhosh.
Speaking to Indian publication Anandabazar, Idhika said she has not had any discussions about Rakkhosh. The film’s creative producer, Muktar Ibne Rafique, confirmed.
On Friday December 5, Rafique told the TIMES of Bangladesh, “When we were conceptualising the story, Idhika’s name never came up. We never considered her for this story and we never offered her the role. So I do not understand how such news appeared in the media.”
Addressing reports that director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy and production house Real Energy are interested in casting Susmita Chatterjee, Rafique added, “We have not finalised the heroine yet. Once we decide, we will announce it officially in a few days.”
Rakkhosh is an action romance. Shooting will take place in Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Filming begins in Dhaka on December 10, although Susmita will not be part of the first schedule and will join later.
Susmita has appeared in two Kolkata films, Lawho Gouranger Naam Re and Bhalobashar Morshum. She has also been in the news recently as the girlfriend of filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and is often seen out with him.
