Walton has started exporting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to the United States, marking a significant step in its push into global electronics supply chains, according to a press statement.
The shipment was formally launched on Thursday at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur, where Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam inaugurated the export by cutting a ribbon.
The components are being imported by Wisconsin-based SafePro Technologies Inc, a US technology firm engaged in public safety and security systems, which supplies technology used in educational institutions and public facilities.
The move positions Walton further into advanced electronics manufacturing, supplying PCBAs alongside its existing motherboard production for both domestic use and international markets.
Prime Minister’s Adviser Rehan Asif Asad attended the inauguration ceremony.
Walton said the company is scaling up production of globally competitive motherboards and PCBAs in Bangladesh, with an increasing focus on export-oriented high-tech components.
The PCBAs exported to the United States will be used in security-related electronic systems, including devices deployed for emergency response and hazard detection infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam said Walton represents a key example of Bangladesh’s industrial transformation and its ability to produce advanced technology products at global standards.
He said the government under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has introduced policy support for domestic manufacturing, including tax and duty incentives proposed in the FY2026–27 budget to strengthen local industry capacity.
During the visit, the minister toured Walton’s production facilities and was briefed on manufacturing processes, quality assurance systems and export operations by company officials.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Managing Director S M Shamsul Alam, alongside other sponsor-directors, attended the inauguration along with Gazipur-1 MP Md Mujibur Rahman.
