A viral photograph appearing to show late Dhallywood star Manna alongside Tamil superstar Vijay has sparked widespread discussion across social media, with many questioning whether the image is authentic or generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
In the widely shared picture, Vijay is seen standing with his hand placed on Manna’s shoulder. Many social media users have claimed that the image dates back nearly two decades.
However, confusion remains over the authenticity of the photograph. While some users believe it was created using modern AI technology, others argue that the image could be genuine.
Speculation surrounding the photo has grown partly because post-production work for several of Manna’s films was completed at Prasad Lab and AVM Studios in Chennai, India.
Around 2003 and 2004, Manna was reportedly in Chennai working on films including Prakash, Minister and Veer Sainik, while work on Vijay’s films was also taking place during the same period.
Based on this, many fans believe the two actors may have met in person.
Manna’s wife Shelly Manna could not confirm the authenticity of the image. Speaking to the media, she said she was busy with work at the time and could not clearly recall such an old incident.
However, she added that it would not have been impossible for Manna to meet Vijay, given his visits to India and participation in various events.
The photograph has also prompted emotional reactions from fans online. One user described Manna as “a hero of the masses” who consistently brought stories rooted in real life to the screen, while another commented that the actor’s reputation remained respected because he stayed away from politics.
Film analysts have noted that both Manna and Vijay built strong reputations as stars who connected with ordinary audiences in their respective film industries.
However, Vijay has since emerged not only as a major film star but also as a prominent political figure in India.
As a result, the viral image of the two actors together has generated considerable excitement among Bangladeshi and South Indian film fans alike.
