Police recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified woman from a remote area of Mahalchhari upazila in Khagrachhari district on Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
Officer-in-Charge of Mahalchhari Police Station Md Zahir Ahmed said the body was found in the 24 Mile area, about 1.5 kilometres inside a location between the Joint Farm and Mura Para, opposite a local college, after residents informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it hospital for post-mortem examination.
Efforts are underway to identify the woman and determine the cause of her death, he said.
