Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) organised the third session of its skill development initiative, “Campus to Corporate”, on Tuesday.
According to the press release, the event, held at UCBD’s Gulshan campus, featured Bengal Meat Processing Industries Ltd Chief Executive Officer AFM Asif as the guest speaker.
Building on the momentum of previous iterations, which featured corporate leaders such as, Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) Bangladesh Managing Director Shadab Ahmed Khan, and Singer Bangladesh Limited Managing Director & CEO MHM Fairoz, this latest session offered students a practical glimpse into real-world corporate ecosystems.
During the session, Asif shared strategic insights, practical advice, and critical leadership lessons drawn from his extensive career. The interactive engagement underscored the importance of developing adaptable skill sets and gaining practical corporate insight alongside traditional academic learning to enhance early-career employability.
A significant development during the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UCBD and Bengal Meat Processing Industries Ltd.
The MoU is designed to foster experiential learning, provide internship opportunities, and support robust career development for students.
“Our ‘Campus to Corporate’ initiative is highly strategic for UCBD, significantly strengthening our industry-academia linkages while positioning our graduates as highly competitive, employment-ready talent,” said STS Group & Universal College Bangladesh CEO Manas Singh.
He added that direct mentorship from visionaries like Asif empowers students for a smooth transition into global workforces.
AFM Asif expressed his impression of the students, saying, “Equipping tomorrow’s leaders requires bridging corporate realities with academic frameworks. I am highly impressed by the analytical mindset of UCBD students, who are well-positioned to make a profound impact on the corporate world.”
The event concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A session between the students and the guest speaker. This initiative remains part of UCBD’s ongoing efforts to bridge the industry-academia gap and empower students with the practical skills necessary for a seamless corporate transition.
