Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the leading bedding manufacturer, Karmo Group of Industries, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen industry–academia collaboration.
The partnership aims to facilitate initiatives focusing on experiential learning, industry engagement, internships, and career development. Through this collaboration, students will be equipped with practical skills, professional exposure, and enhanced career readiness.
The MoU was formally signed by Kingshuk Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Universal College Bangladesh, and Diwan Shahriar, Director of Karmo Group of Industries. The signing ceremony was also attended by Shah Yousha Ahmed, General Manager, Corporate Relations at Universal College Bangladesh, along with senior representatives from both organisations.
Speaking at the event, Kingshuk Gupta emphasised the importance of real-world exposure. “The classroom builds knowledge, but industry experience builds confidence. Our partnership with Karmo Group will give students valuable exposure to the workplace and help them graduate better prepared for the demands of today’s job market,” he said.
Diwan Shahriar highlighted the need for synergy between sectors to nurture future professionals. “Industry and academia must work together to develop talent that can adapt and contribute from the start. We are pleased to partner with Universal College Bangladesh to help students gain practical insights and real-world experience,” he remarked.
This collaboration reflects UCBD’s continued commitment to establishing stronger links between higher education and industry, creating learning opportunities that prepare graduates for an increasingly dynamic and competitive workforce.
