Banglalink has launched a nationwide initiative offering free imo voice and video calls every Friday for prepaid and postpaid users subscribing to eligible 7-day or 30-day data packs and bundles, the digital operator said.
Under the initiative, titled ‘Kotha Bola Shukrobare Free’, customers can use imo calls without deductions from their data balance throughout the validity of their eligible bundles. The benefit will recur every Friday during the bundle period.
Banglalink launched the initiative to help customers stay connected with family members, particularly those living abroad, as many Bangladeshis and migrant workers use imo for voice and video communication.
The company said Friday is an important day for family gatherings and reconnecting with loved ones, and the initiative aims to remove concerns over data usage while encouraging closer communication.
Reflecting on the campaign, Banglalink Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Kazi Mahboob Hassan said, “It is not easy to stay away from your family, thousands of miles away. The deep emotional distance that families of immigrant workers face cannot be bridged so easily but as a ‘people-first’ brand, we have to try.”
He added, “Friday is a sacred day of togetherness for Bangladeshi households and Banglalink believes connectivity should bridge physical divides. This initiative is an effort to bring families close on the day it matters the most.”
Banglalink said in a press release that the offer requires no separate registration or additional cost. Customers can access the benefit by purchasing or renewing any 7-day or 30-day data packs or bundles through the MyBL App, mobile financial services (MFS), USSD codes or standard retail channels.
