Pop star Britney Spears has reignited tensions with her family, accusing her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears and former husband Kevin Federline of treating her unfairly during past visits.

According to NDTV, the 44-year-old singer made the allegations in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, accompanying it with a still from the 2003 film ‘Uptown Girls’, featuring a young Dakota Fanning making an offensive hand gesture.

Spears claimed that Jamie Lynn had never allowed her to hold her niece, Ivey, during visits to Louisiana while the Covid-19 pandemic was underway.

She also alleged that Federline refused to let her use the bathroom when she visited his home to collect their children.

“They made me feel like a slave and have all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad !!!” Spears wrote. She ended the post with a pointed declaration: “I will find a new family !!!”

The claims have not been independently verified. A source close to Jamie Lynn disputed the allegation involving Ivey, telling media outlets that Britney had held her niece during the period in question and that the child loves her aunt.

Jamie Lynn herself and Federline had not publicly responded to the latest allegations at the time of reporting.

Spears shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with Federline. The couple married in 2004 and finalised their divorce in 2007.

Her strained relationship with Jamie Lynn has also attracted public attention over the years, particularly after Britney’s 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021.

The arrangement, which began in 2008, placed much of her personal and financial affairs under the control of others, including her father, Jamie Spears.

In her 2023 memoir ‘The Woman in Me’, Britney discussed her complicated relationship with her younger sister and expressed frustration over what she considered a lack of support during the conservatorship.

Her latest post has once again brought the long-running family tensions into the public spotlight.
