The first full-length trailer for ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 3 has unveiled new gods, mythical monsters and a dangerous mission to rescue Annabeth Chase as the conflict between the Greek gods and the Titans intensifies.
According to the Deadline, the trailer got released on Monday, and it follows Percy Jackson, played by Walker Scobell, as he seeks help to prevent an impending war. He may need to join forces with Thalia, daughter of Zeus, played by Tamara Smart, while also rescuing fellow demigods from danger.
Based on ‘The Titan’s Curse’, the third book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, the new season follows Percy and his companions as they attempt to rescue siblings Nico and Bianca di Angelo, children of Hades, played by Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie.
Their mission takes a dangerous turn when Annabeth, portrayed by Leah Sava Jeffries, is captured by Luke’s forces and taken to Atlas, the legendary Titan. At an enemy stronghold in California, she is forced to bear the weight of the sky in place of the goddess Artemis or Luke.
The trailer also offers a first look at Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen as Hera. Returning gods include Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Courtney B. Vance as Zeus and Adam Copeland as Ares. Jennifer Beals joins the cast as Demeter, while Hubert Smielecki portrays Apollo.
Among the threats awaiting Percy and his companions is Talos, a giant bronze automaton encountered at the Junkyard of the Gods.
The season introduces several other cast members, including Holt McCallany as Atlas, David Costabile as Dr Thorn and Jesse L Martin as Frederick Chase, Annabeth’s mortal father. Dafne Keen will play Artemis, while Saara Chaudry takes on the role of Zoë Nightshade.
Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E Steinberg, the series is executive produced by Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein, alongside Riordan and several other producers.
‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 3 is set to premiere on Disney+ on 20 November.
