Film actress Toma Mirza cast her vote in the 13th National Parliament election, marking her first time at the polls. She said that by voting, she had not only fulfilled her civic duty but also hoped to encourage the younger generation of voters.
Regarding her first-time voting experience, Toma said, “I have never voted before. Today, I voted for the first time in my life. Those who have not yet voted, please come forward and vote. Voting is our right and everyone should exercise it.”
She added, “I want the industry I work in to function properly. Those who come to power should look after the welfare of artists and the entertainment sector. This is my expectation.”
Toma visited the Mohanogar College polling station in Badda, Dhaka, around 1:00 pm. While casting her vote, she emphasised that voting is not only a right but also a responsibility. She urged all citizens to exercise their right to vote so that the country can move forward in the right direction.
Setting an example for new voters, she highlighted that voting can be a festive experience. She suggested that election day fosters a sense of togetherness and strengthens the foundations of democracy.
