Three members of the same family have died from electrocution in Anantapur village of Bishwambharpur upazila in Sunamganj on Monday, in a tragic incident that left the local community in shock.

The deceased were identified as Nurul Amin (62), his wife Fatema Akter (50), and their son Farhad (37), residents of Anantapur village under Fatepur union.

According to local sources, the incident took place when a snapped electricity line fell onto the tin roof of a grocery shop. As the structure was made of tin, electricity quickly spread throughout the shop.

Farhad was the first to be electrocuted. In an attempt to rescue him, his father Nurul Amin rushed forward but was also electrocuted, followed by their mother Fatema Akter, who suffered the same fate while trying to save both.

Locals later rescued the three in critical condition and took them to Bishwambharpur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
