Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in 24 hours leading up to 8am on Tuesday, according to the latest report from Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

However, the DGHS stated that no deaths were definitively confirmed as measles during this period. A total of 1,135 children were reported to have been infected with measles or displayed symptoms of the disease within the same timeframe.

Since 15 March, the total death toll from measles and its symptoms has reached 686. Of these fatalities, 93 were confirmed measles cases, while the remaining 593 children died with symptoms.

According to official data, 126 children were newly confirmed to have measles in the last 24 hours, while 1,009 others were identified with symptoms.

During this period, 973 children were admitted to hospitals, and 986 were discharged following recovery.

The cumulative figures from 15 March to Tuesday morning show that the total number of suspected measles cases in the country has risen to 94,764. Out of these, 11,297 cases have been confirmed as measles.

The report further noted that 78,716 patients required hospitalisation during this period, with 74,971 individuals returning home after completing their treatment.
