BNP and its affiliated bodies staged protest processions in several districts including Barishal and Faridpur on Tuesday, centring the Awami League’s founding anniversary.
In Barishal, BNP leaders and activists brought out a procession from the party office on Sadar Road and later brought out a protest march led by Organising Secretary Advocate Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin.
The march was joined by leaders and activists of the city and district BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal.
In Savar, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal activists staged a motorcycle showdown and sit‑in along the Dhaka–Aricha highway. Led by local leaders, they later held a rally at Radio Colony intersection, vowing to resist sabotage attempts.
In Dinajpur, a group “Amra July Joddha” organised a demonstration in front of the municipality office, denouncing Awami League’s “fascist activities.” Leaders warned there would be no compromise with what they termed “killers and terrorists.”
In Faridpur, BNP and Jubo Dal leaders took position on key roads with slogans, led by central Jubo Dal Vice‑President Dipu Chowdhury. They pledged to resist any attempt at chaos by the banned Awami League.
BNP leaders across districts said they remain on maximum alert to prevent unrest and sabotage.
