BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman shared a message on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat wishing peace, welfare, and prosperity of the nation and the Muslim community.
In a message sent to the media on Monday, he described the night as a significant occasion of the month of Shaban, heralding the arrival of Ramadan.
He said Allah opens the doors of mercy and forgiveness for His servants on this night.
He described Shab-e-Barat as a night of salvation, where believers pray for deliverance from all sins and wrongdoings.
He called on people to reject violence, bloodshed, and hatred, and instead uphold tolerance, restraint, and goodwill for the greater welfare of humanity. He also urged prayers for world peace and the unity, solidarity, and security of the Muslim Ummah.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s message
In a separate message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Shab-e-Barat is a night of forgiveness and liberation for Muslims.
He said Allah pays attention to His creation on this night and forgives all except those who harbour malice.
Fakhrul added that on Shab-e-Barat, those seeking sustenance are blessed, and the distressed find a path to safety. He said the night teaches Muslims to lead a balanced life.
He added that devout Muslims pray to remain on a pure and righteous path and described Shab-e-Barat as a night of fortune and blessings that brings peace, happiness, and prosperity.
Fakhrul reaffirmed his commitment to work for humanity’s welfare under Allah’s guidance and prayed for the continued progress, peace, and prosperity of the country, the nation, and the Muslim community.
