Prime Minister Tarique Rahman spent Saturday at his Tejgaon office holding meetings on key national sectors despite it being a public holiday.

He arrived at the office at midday, marking his third consecutive Saturday working from the office since taking oath as prime minister.

The day began with a meeting with Bangladesh Jute Research Institute Director General Agronomist Nargis Akhter, where discussions focused on diversifying jute products and expanding markets to strengthen the sector.

Later at around 2:30pm, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku met the prime minister to discuss reducing costs in the power and energy sectors and ensuring more effective fuel management.

Prime Minister Public Administration Adviser Ismail Zabiullah, Finance Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Education and Expatriate Welfare Adviser Mahdi Amin were present at the office during the day.

Prime Minister Press Secretary Saleh Shibli and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon were also present.

In the evening, the prime minister moved to State Guest House Jamuna to host an iftar in honour of the country’s ulema-mashayekh and orphans.
