Actress Tania Brishty has dismissed rumours of her death and serious illness that recently circulated on social media, confirming that she is alive, recovering at home and continuing treatment under medical supervision in Dhaka.
The rumours sparked concern among fans and colleagues before the actress addressed the matter directly.
“I am well by the grace of Allah. I am at home now and taking complete rest,” Tania said.
She explained that she remains under regular medical supervision and continues to attend scheduled appointments with her doctors.
“I have regular appointments with my doctors and undergo check-ups as required. I am following all medical advice,” she said.
Tania revealed that she is due to undergo further medical examinations on 20 June and is currently preparing for them.
“Two surgeries have already been completed. The third surgery will take some more time. To avoid any new complications, I mostly stay at home and do not go out very often,” she added.
The actress fell seriously ill in mid-February, when doctors discovered a tumour in her brain. The tumour was removed through surgery later that month, after which she continued treatment from home for an extended period.
On March 9, Tania travelled to Chennai, India, for advanced medical treatment. She returned to Bangladesh during the first week of April and has remained at home recovering since then.
Following her return, the actress had said that doctors advised her to undergo another surgery, although it could not be performed immediately.
At the time, she explained that medical specialists had recommended a third operation but said several months would be required before it could take place.
According to Tania, neurosurgeons were preparing for the procedure before scheduling the surgery.
Despite the challenges, the actress hopes to make a full recovery and return to acting in the near future.
