Actress Sunerah Binte Kamal has spoken out against what she described as a growing wave of misinformation and unverified claims circulating about her on social media, urging people to be more responsible about what they consume and share online.
In a post shared on her verified Facebook page on Tuesday night, the actress addressed the rise of speculative writing and rumour-driven content, saying that a section of online users regularly publish claims without proper knowledge, context, or fact-checking. She noted that much of this content is negative in tone and often spread without accountability.
Sunerah also drew a distinction between social media commentary and professional journalism, expressing respect for working journalists and their process of verification before publication. She said established media professionals operate with responsibility and accuracy, unlike unverified online posts that circulate freely.
The actress further criticised the tendency of some writers to frame assumptions as personal opinions, suggesting that such content is often driven by attention-seeking behaviour, engagement metrics, or monetisation rather than truth.
She ended her message by urging fans and followers to ignore baseless rumours and avoid spending time on content that lacks credibility.
Sunerah is currently occupied with several acting projects, including film work and short dramas. She has been maintaining a steady presence on screen in recent months, continuing to expand her portfolio across different formats in the entertainment industry.
