Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, met National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam on Tuesday.
They discussed on Bangladesh’s post‑election political landscape, constitutional reform, economic and judicial changes, and issues of mutual interest in Bangladesh–Spain relations.
Both sides exchanged views on the country’s economic outlook and explored opportunities to deepen cooperation and expand bilateral partnerships.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to continued engagement and closer cooperation to strengthen longstanding ties between Bangladesh and Spain.
NCP Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, International Affairs Cell In‑Charge Alauddin Mohammad, Joint Secretary SM Saif Mustafiz, and Central Committee Member Ashrefa Khatun also attended the meeting held at the party’s central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka.
Following the talks, Nahid congratulated the Spanish ambassador on Spain’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
