A cherished Bengali nursery rhyme is getting a modern musical makeover as singer Syed Omi and actress Achol Akhee team up for their latest music video, Ata Gache Tota Pakhi.
Inspired by the well-known rhyme “Ata Gache Tota Pakhi, Dalim Gache Mou”, the song blends nostalgic childhood memories with a contemporary romantic and Dhakaiya flavour.
While the catchy opening line comes from the traditional rhyme, the lyrics and music arrangement have been completely reimagined for today’s audience.
The music video, set to premiere on 29 July on Syed Omi’s official YouTube channel, reunites the popular duo, who have previously collaborated on several successful releases.
The song features the romantic hook, “O Sundori Kobe Hobi Amar Ghorer Bou”, which Omi believes will resonate with younger listeners.
Shot at scenic locations in London, the video combines colourful choreography, vibrant costumes and Achol Akhee’s signature screen presence with Omi’s stylish performance.
Speaking about the release, Omi said the team wanted to transform a familiar childhood rhyme into a fresh romantic number while preserving its nostalgic appeal.
Achol Akhee described the concept as unique, saying the familiar verse had been creatively woven into both the song and its storyline.
She added that the team thoroughly enjoyed filming the video and hopes audiences will embrace the final product.
The pair have delivered several popular music videos together in recent years, including Matal, Dui Chakkar Cycle and Pori Paichi Re, which have collectively garnered millions of views across YouTube and social media.
