Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has travelled to flood-ravaged Nepal to meet families affected by the devastating disaster and deliver relief supplies from India.
During his visit, Sood interacted with survivors, heard their concerns and met people who have lost their homes and loved ones.
Sharing photographs from the ground, the actor said those affected by the disaster would not have to face the difficult recovery process alone.
Speaking to ANI, Sood said he went to Nepal to stand beside flood victims and support communities struggling with the aftermath.
His team carried blankets and food supplies from India and is assessing what additional assistance is needed.
The actor also acknowledged the difficulties involved in moving relief materials across the border.
He said, however, that his efforts would continue beyond the immediate emergency.
According to Sood, his team plans to keep sending essential supplies from India and work with affected communities in the months ahead as they begin rebuilding their lives.
His visit comes as rescue and recovery operations continue in several parts of Nepal.
Many families have been displaced, while others remain anxious about relatives who are still missing.
The latest figures cited by Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority put the death toll at 939, with 3,925 people still missing, including 592 foreign nationals.
Sood has previously been involved in relief efforts during humanitarian crises, and his latest visit has drawn appreciation from fans and supporters who praised him for travelling to the affected country personally.
For the actor, the immediate priority remains helping families secure basic necessities while supporting them as they take their first steps towards rebuilding after the floods.
