Bangladeshi film superstar Shakib Khan has paid tribute to legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak on his ninth death anniversary, recalling the profound influence and affection he received from the veteran actor.
In a heartfelt social media post, Shakib remembered Razzak as more than a legendary star, describing him as a guardian, inspiration and source of immense affection for the country’s film industry.
“Today marks nine years since we lost Nayak Raj Razzak uncle. I still feel the void of his absence just as deeply. He was not only a legendary actor but also a guardian, inspiration and a great source of love for our film industry,” Shakib wrote.
Reflecting on his personal relationship with Razzak, Shakib said the veteran actor had a significant influence on both his career and personal life.
For Shakib, Razzak was not merely a celebrated figure of Bangladeshi cinema but someone who played the role of a guardian in his life.
“He was especially like a protective shadow over me. He gave me affection, looked after me and offered me advice,” Shakib wrote.
Razzak, widely regarded as one of the most influential actors in Bangladeshi cinema, died on 21 August 2017 at the age of 75.
His career spanned decades, during which he became one of the defining figures of the country’s film industry.
His contribution to Bangladeshi cinema continues to be remembered by generations of actors, filmmakers and audiences, while his legacy remains deeply embedded in the country’s cinematic history.
