Bipasha Basu has returned to acting after six years, beginning work on an untitled Prime Video crime drama directed by Hansal Mehta. Sunny Kaushal and Vishal Jethwa also star.
Hindustan Times reports that Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker wrote the series, which Prabhleen Sandhu produces under Almighty Motion Pictures Productions.
Set in a small town on the verge of becoming a major heroin hub, the story follows Kaushal as an incorruptible police officer battling powerful forces inside and outside the system.
The makers have not revealed Basu and Jethwa’s roles, the title or the release date.
Basu last appeared in the 2020 series Dangerous with husband Karan Singh Grover. Her last theatrical release was Alone (2015), in which she played twin sisters.
The couple welcomed daughter Devi in November 2022.
