Following the blockbuster success of Borbaad, Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is set to reunite with director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy for a new feature film, industry sources have said.
According to multiple sources, the film is tentatively titled Nissho.
While Shakib Khan’s involvement has been confirmed, the leading actress has yet to be finalised. The filmmakers are targeting Eid-ul-Fitr 2027 for the film’s theatrical release.
Shakib recently hinted at the new collaboration by sharing a photo on his social media featuring director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy and producer Shahrin Sultana Sumi.
In the caption, he wrote: “Borbaad team is coming back. Let’s make history once again.”
Sources say the upcoming film, like Borbaad, will be produced by Real Energy Production. Producer Shahrin Sultana Sumi previously said the project would be officially announced soon, with filming set to begin shortly afterwards.
Released during Eid-ul-Fitr last year, Borbaad emerged as one of the year’s biggest commercial hits.
Starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul, the film reportedly grossed more than Tk750 million, according to its producers.
