Four people were killed and seven others critically injured when a microbus collided head‑on with a covered van in Chattogram early Sunday. The victims were returning to Eidgaon in Cox’s Bazar after attending a wedding in the city.
The dead include siblings Mimta and Morshed, children of Monzur Alam from North Maizpara in Eidgaon Union; their uncle Ferdous Alam Firoz, owner of Nurjahan Medico at Arafat Shopping Complex in Eidgaon; and driver Munna. Firoz’s home is in Gomathli, Pokkhali Union.
The injured, whose identities were not immediately available, are being treated at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Former Eidgaon ASI Mohammad Mohiuddin confirmed the incident, saying three died at the scene near Karnaphuli College Bazar and another at hospital. Local residents, fire service, and police rescued the injured and sent them to hospital.
