Seven more people died with measles symptoms in the country in the 24 hours to Saturday morning, taking the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms to 1,019 this year.
The deaths were recorded between 8am Friday and 8am Saturday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the total deaths, 100 were confirmed to have been caused by measles, while 919 people died with symptoms of the disease, the DGHS said in its latest bulletin issued on Saturday.
The health authorities also reported 855 suspected measles cases during the 24-hour period.
The number of deaths and suspected cases has continued to rise amid the ongoing measles outbreak across the country.
On Friday, three people died with measles symptoms, while 1,012 new suspected cases were reported in the previous 24 hours.
