Standard Chartered Bangladesh (SCB) has won five international banking awards this year, earning recognition for corporate responsibility, Islamic banking and cross-border transaction services as the lender seeks to strengthen its position in Bangladesh’s banking market.
The awards came from financial publications Euromoney and Asian Banking & Finance, which recognised the bank’s performance in corporate responsibility, Shariah-compliant banking, trade finance and cash management.
SCB said in a press release on Sunday it was named Bangladesh’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.
It also received Bangladesh’s Best Islamic Bank and Bangladesh’s Best Islamic Digital Bank at the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards 2026.
At the Asian Banking & Finance Wholesale Banking Awards 2026, the bank won Bangladesh International Trade Finance Bank of the Year and Bangladesh International Cash Management Bank of the Year.
The awards come as banks face heightened global economic uncertainty, foreign exchange volatility, rapid technological change and growing demand for responsible banking practices.
The bank said the recognitions reflected its focus on sustainable finance, digital transformation, trade finance, cash management and Shariah-compliant banking services through its Saadiq franchise.
SCB Interim CEO Enamul Huque said the awards recognised the resilience of the bank’s Bangladesh franchise and reflected continued client confidence.
“The recognitions reflect the strength and resilience of our franchise in Bangladesh. They are also a testament to the trust our clients continue to place in us,” he said.
According to him, the bank had combined global expertise with local market knowledge to support clients through digital innovation, trade finance, cash management and Islamic banking solutions.
Standard Chartered has operated in Bangladesh for 121 years, supporting trade, investment and cross-border business while connecting local businesses with international markets.
