The plaintiff in the long-pending Salman Shah murder case has petitioned to seize the properties of 11 accused, including Samira and Don.
The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) was scheduled to submit the chargesheet on Tuesday, 13 January, but it did not. The agency requested more time without explaining the delay or progress in the investigation.
Earlier, fans of the late actor held a human chain protest, demanding that the authorities arrest the accused and ensure proper justice. The demonstration showed public anger, grief, and impatience over the 29-year-long case.
Supporters criticised the slow pace of justice. They noted that more than two months have passed since the accidental death case was upgraded to a murder case. None of the accused has been arrested. Fans urged the court to block anticipatory bail and allow the trial to proceed quickly.
The court directed the conversion of the accidental death case into a murder case on 20 October last year. On the same day, Salman Shah’s maternal uncle, Alamgir Kumkum, filed the murder case at Ramna Police Station, naming 11 individuals as accused.
Salman Shah’s career remains unforgettable. In just three and a half years, he starred in 27 films, leaving a lasting mark on Bangladeshi cinema.
His tragic death on 6 September 1996 shocked the nation and continues to evoke public mourning decades later.
